Crystal & Gemstone Care:  For overall care of crystals and gemstones, the best cleaning method is to wash gently in soapy water and rinse well.  Use a soft brush to clean in crevasses.  Avoid extreme temperature fluctuations and harsh chemicals.

Gemstone and Crystal Energy Cleansing:   When you obtain a new gemstone or crystal, you will need to cleanse the stone of any negative energy that has accumulated from other people or environments. Gemstones and crystals will absorb the energy that surrounds them - so, they need to  be cleansed to remove the negative energy.  A stone that needs cleansing may have a dull, heavy or unpleasant feeling.  If your stones are not cleansed regularly, they will become less effective when used for healing.

        Our favorite way to cleanse gemstones and crystals is to place them on a bed of sea salt for about twenty-four hours, then wipe stone carefully with a soft cloth.  Salt is also a crystal, which has been used for centuries as a protector against negativity, and will absorb the imbalances and negativity from the stone.

CHAKRA INFORMATION:

What is a chakra? 

           A chakra is a vortex of life force (energy), which spins like a wheel and regulates the flow of energy throughout the body.  The functioning of the chakras are affected by how we think, feel and respond to the world around us.  There are seven main chakras and they are located in a line from the pelvis to the top of the head.  See characteristic chart below for information about each chakra.

Using the Chakras to Aid Healing:  When you feel that a physical or emotional area needs healing, determine which chakra the condition relates to.  Lying down, place the indicated gemstone on your body over the appropriate chakra.  Relax and allow the energy of the gemstone and chakra to merge.  If you would like to reduce energy in a chakra, use a gemstone of the opposite color (for example: yellow antidotes purple, and  red antidotes blue).

PENDULUM INFORMATION

How to use your Gemstone Pendulum:  Choose a gemstone that you feel comfortable with.  Pendulums are used to answer "yes" or "no" questions.  However, before you begin asking questions, you must program your pendulum in the following manner.  Hold the chain with your dominant hand over the palm of your receiving hand.  Concentrate on the pendulum, willing it to move in a clockwise motion.  This means "yes".  Next, will it to move in a counter-clockwise motion. This means "no".  This can also be done over a 5" diameter circle.  Relax and keep focused - it really works!  Now you are ready to ask your question.

        Program your pendulum in this manner every day before you use it.

        Do not use this divining method if you are sick, taking strong medication, or drinking alcohol.  You will not receive correct answers while under these influences.

PEWTER INFORMATION

How to care for Pewter:  Hand wash pewter in mild soap and water; then use a soft cotton towel to dry.  You may occasionally use an ammonia based glass cleaner to remove any soap film. Keep pewter away from ovens, stoves and any other heat source, as it has a low melting point.  Do not wash pewter in the dishwasher.  Do not store food in pewter unless it is lined with glass or plastic - some foods contain chemicals that may stain or pit the surface.
